This girl at work that does the same job as me %26amp; comes in after me, is always checking up on my work. I can understand checking it to make sure everything is right, but she is seriously bossing me around. This morning she had written me an e-mail telling me to do something that I always do anyways. Its stupid. What should I do about this girl at work?
Just deal with her. She's going to follow up on you until she finds a mistake. Maybe she feels threatened by you or something. I'd write back saying (politely) that you appreciate her concern and that you are aware that you are supposed to do that and did it.
Soandso,
I appreciate your initiative for taking the time to check my work for accuracy. Also, thank you for the reminder about x. I am aware that this is supposed to be done. As you can see, I have done it here (explain where it shows you did it).
Thank You,
Your Full Name
Writing an email like this does not express that you are irritated with her. However it does imply that she could have been doing her own work instead of checking up on you. It also lets her know that you know how to do her job and should make her feel stupid for not seeing that you already did what she ';reminded'; you to do. Never write an email that you wouldn't want her to print and take to your boss. I would also create an email folder to store correspondence between the two of you. What should I do about this girl at work?
Buy a .44 magnum, like Robert DeNiro did in tha Taxi Driver. Shoot her up. Ask nicely later. That's how I taught my gf to front.
Ignore her.
Have a FRIENDLY chat with her. Tell her it makes you uncomfortable. She may not notice she is doing it. If she doesn't stop, speak with your supervisor.
Talk to her about it. A lot of the time, people don't understand that they're being irritating. If it continues, tell your boss that it's interfering with your job performance, and he'll do something about it.
well welcome to the children's room... sorry but she seems childish I would just ignore her and do the best job you can do and forget about her.. she wants attention as the work place goddess....
Do like I did. Keep everything she writes you post-it, e-mail everything. Go to your HR Department with it. I did and it worked.
Are you new there? If so, you may have to put up with it for a little while, but if you've been there more than say... 4 or 5 months, have a chat with your boss about it. You don't have to sound like you're complaining, just say ';I just wanted to check with you and see what (girls name)'s role is in supervising me and checking my work.'; Your boss will either tell you why she is checking up on you, or will say ';She's doing what??'; and talk to her about it. Hope that helps!
