I give bowling lessons 3 days a week, but because I'm only 15, the parents of the kids don't take me seriously. Today, I had two kids at 9:00, and it was their first lesson. My boss tells the kid's parents that they will be paired up with me. They were surprised that I was REALLY a coach, and gave me a dirty look. Later, I was coaching the kids, when the mom started to complain to my boss that I wasn't teaching them right. My boss said that she would watch, but she didn't find anything wrong with what I was teaching. She told me to 'act like I'm correcting something, or else the mom is going to have a hissy fit and ask for a refund'. Anyway, an hour and a half later, she demands a refund because she 'wasn't satisfied with how I taught it', despite the fact that my boss said that she couldn't find anything wrong with the kid's form. So now, I have to stay an hour and a half after work to work with him 1-on-1. How can I get the parents to look past my age?How should I handle this situation at work?
I agree! Great job. Keep up the good work and learn a few tricks to get the parents on your side.
Chat with them and brown nose the heck out of them.
Tell them that they have a smart son, (or daughter) and he works well with you.
He is a quick learner.
If you introduce yourself and shake hands with them, smile, say Hi, and gently shake their hand.

Be well groomed.
Remember, people are paying...so be professional.
Use the yes sir and no sir's.
Go back to the basics....find a few things...they may not be a problem ...but because it is in black and white in a book you can revert to it once or twice in the view of the parent. You have to gain their trust.
I know it is not right, but adults rarely see too far below their own noses sometimes.

Pretty interesting that you should be in that situation as an instructor... My first thought: Block out the parents completely. I personally know you can be an expert bowler at your age, so you are going to have to muster up your confidence level and show your stuff. If your boss has decided that you need to give extra attention to this one particular individual, do it, but make sure your boss knows that you have given all you can and extra work will only equate to more training for the individual, which your boss or company should be getting paid for. Much the same as you, you should be getting paid for the extra work.
If you like what you are doing and this is an isolated incident, just look ahead and forget about this one. Parents always have been strange when it comes to their children.
The best thing would be to teach them as you normally would, trying your best to focus on the student, and not the parent. If you do a good job, the parent should finally see this when the student starts to bowl better, and she will think differently of you.
I would not worry about this situation. I think this is a rare case, and just keep doing what you do. Your boss(hopefully) is a good bowler, and knows you are doing well, so trust their judgement, not the parent, cuz obviously your boss thinks you are doing well.

When you are assigned people to coach, you should have your boss introduce you and give your qualifications to the customers. Ask if they have any questions. Tell them beforehand how qualified you are, what your average is, etc.
I'm thinking it was this particular family. I would have no problems with a teen teaching me or anyone in my family how to bowl. If you know your stuff, your age is irrelevant.

That is unfortunate that you are treated that way by the parents. I think that you need to have a signed contract so that they know you are 15, before they even come in. Your boss will have to do something like this if they are going to continue to have lessons and not throw the ';hissy fits';...

Ignore it. There are always going to be assholes that are willing to do anything for a refund. Teach them as best as you can and if they give you any problems respectfully decline to teach them. You are providing a service for them, but there is a point where the customer is no longer always right.

Would this work to lose weight?
i hate dieting and sleeping (which you obviously have to do to lose weight) (whats the point of dieting and sleeping, i mean you only have one life why waste time obsessing over health? Everyone is gonna die sometime, even healthy people) but would this work? if i ate whatever i wanted (in decent amounts) be very energetic and always move around during the day, stay up all night running on a treadmill and exercising, drink energy drinks and not sleep until i can't keep my eyes open anymore, and use diet pills.Would this work to lose weight?

I had to fire my sitter for cruelty to my kids. I have state subsidized payments so it is hard to find a good sitter. I had to locate a sitter after I threw out my boyfriend of 7 years earlier this year. Here's the kicker, my new sitter would be his mother, who is also the grandmother of my youngest child who is three. I checked witih my older(8, and 9) kids (from a previous relationship) %26amp; they know her well and trust her. Problem is me and her son (the ex) are going through a nasty split up. I have communicated to her that he is not allowed in my home while I am not there because he was mentally/ verbally abusive to me %26amp; the kids, his mother is sort of a push over when it comes to him. Should I automatically go get a restraining order on him? Can I? I do not want to subject my children to his presences because they fear him. I have instruceted my kids to tell if he comes over as I have been very direct with her. I have had the police involved before b/c he reused to move out. I would definitely get a restraining order. The only problem is that you need proof of abuse or the judge will not issue it. I would NOT let his mom watch my kids because even if she wasn't a push over, that's his MOM, she's going to let him see the kids. Unfortunately because he is the father, he has rights to see the youngest even if you don't agree with it. Even if you get a restraining order, the judge would still give him supervised visitations. WOW what a situation! First of all the restraining order is only as good as the paper it is written on! If he wants to violate it- there could be legal reprocutions, but not always! Some states will not give restraing orders unless there is currant violence or unless you were married etc. Many things involved here. If you havent established legal custody, you had better do so. Maybe you should have a heart to heart with your ';mother in law';. Ask her if she can honestly respect your decisions and make a comprimise as to when youe x can see the kids! Unless of course he has been violent with them in the past. It would be wonderful too let grandma help watch the kids. Even if she is charging you! I would definitely get a restraining order. The only problem is that you need proof of abuse or the judge will not issue it. I would NOT let his mom watch my kids because even if she wasn't a push over, that's his MOM, she's going to let him see the kids. Unfortunately because he is the father, he has rights to see the youngest even if you don't agree with it. Even if you get a restraining order, the judge would still give him supervised visitations. WOW what a situation! First of all the restraining order is only as good as the paper it is written on! If he wants to violate it- there could be legal reprocutions, but not always! Some states will not give restraing orders unless there is currant violence or unless you were married etc. Many things involved here. If you havent established legal custody, you had better do so. Maybe you should have a heart to heart with your ';mother in law';. Ask her if she can honestly respect your decisions and make a comprimise as to when youe x can see the kids! Would this audio setup work for surround sound?
I want to have a blu ray player via hdmi connected to my hdtv hdmi in. Then I have the TV's audio out via component cables going to my integrated dvd/receiver audio in. With the receiver on and of course the right input selected on tv that should allow whatever I'm viewing to be in 5.1. By the way my audio system is 5.1. Is this guy at work trying to get me to leave or is he going senile?
I'm a programmer for a small software consulting company and I do work for different people in the company. This one person I've been doing most of the work for recently is driving me absolutely insane. For example: He first gives me a project to work on (and gives me very little detailed info). If I ask, he says something like ';just make it work'; and goes back to playing solitaire.
Then after I bust my rear end for days (sometimes weeks) I show him the program and the output, he starts (basically arguing with me) about how it doesn't work the way he wants it. Or he starts asking me why I didn't do this and that (stuff that he never asked for). I think he either hates me and wants me to look for another job, or he is just going senile. He is getting up there in age. Not old, but definitelly over the hill.Is this guy at work trying to get me to leave or is he going senile?
He's threatened by young up and coming ';whipper-snappers';(old person talk). Tell him to write what he wants on paper and then you follow it to a T. If he doesn't like it tell the old man to retire and quit holding you back.Is this guy at work trying to get me to leave or is he going senile?

If I were you, I'd be very polite and not say anything insulting or derogatory to him (or her) about this other guy--I wouldn't want to come across as being just a bratty and disrespectful complainer (and besides, maybe your supervisor and the other guy are best friends or something).
I would say something to the effect that I've been running into some snags on Mr. X's projects, and I needed some advice about how I could be doing a better job with them. (that way, hopefully, I'd come across as not just a whining complainer, but as someone who's interested in doing good work in this Company). Then I'd briefly describe how X tends to give skimpy information about what he's looking for from my work on the projects, and how unhelpfully critical his remarks have been about my work afterwards.
During the whole conversation with my supervisor I'd keep my focus as much as humanly possible on how I simply want to do a good job for Mr. X and everyone else in the Company. Depending on my supervisor's reactions to what I had to say, I might even suggest that perhaps Mr. X and I just weren't a good match, and that perhaps I could be steered more toward working on other people's projects instead.

It can be done, don't listen to all the synics...Do long-distance relationships work? How do I make this work?
They don't. I'm sorry. There's always the idea of that ';one day'; when you'll be together, but in reality it never happens.. I ended my last two relationships because they were long distance. It hurts to not be able to see them often, and that leads to depression, and heartbreak, and then you start wondering if they're cheating etc. It's not worth it.
Has to be a lot of trust and patience.
If you're used to being physically next to someone, it may take a while to get used to this.
But otherwise, go for it. Just make sure there's the trust and the patience, and make sure you talk quite often.
I don't advise it unless it is absolute true love. But if you start suspecting lies then get out immediately. Don't be a fool and believe lies like I did.

I'm a World of Warcraft fan moving to a rural area. Anyone know how to make this work?
Satellite is the most obvious answer, but the general opinion seems to be that WoW plays poorly on it. Hard pressed to find a DSL connection that covers my address. Is there a satellite internet service that performs well enough, or does someone have a different suggestion? Losing WoW will make me sad...I'm a World of Warcraft fan moving to a rural area. Anyone know how to make this work?
I also investigated satellite service when I moved to an area that had neither DSL or Cable broadband service. I found satellite service to be way to expensive for the small increase over dial-up. Also there is a natural lag with satellite besides whatever lag is normally experienced with WoW.
I went with dialup. I was able to solo and do 5-mans just fine. I was also able to main tank Karazhan fine except for the steps on the way to Moroes, I always got a lot of lag there. 20/40 mans were pretty much out of the question.

What happened with me was I hourly at $35 bucks an hour so with overtime it was over 50 bucks. This was back in the day.
After the powers that be looked at my accomplishments and their budget. they decided it would be better to be on salary.
This of course gave me the opportunity to ask for a higher salary based on payment history.

I had it so bad they almost admitted me into the hospital, then I found out about the acupressure wristbands!! They are so great for nausea!! You can get them at a drugstore, they are for motion sickness!! Good Luck!!

2 main factors missing-how big fish-how big tank.i kept a pair of 10'; oscars in a 6x2x2ft tank this is as small a tank as i would keep 2 mature fish in.but remember small fish grow in to big fish if fed correctly.hope this helps

You should only ever keep 1 oscar by itself otherwise you end up with no other fish anyway.
If you get them all at the same time and get them while they are still young (like no more that a couple inches long) it could work. But here's the kicker, you will need a LARGE tank to handle these 4 fish that will grow fast ! I would dare to say that I would not attempt this in less than a 185, with a 55 gal, in the spare bedroom waiting in case the fish are just not getting along or in case of illness. Keep in mind that the Oscars will grow into big agressive fish and you have to be committed to them, too many people get them while they are small and cute then turn them loose in the wild. This can not be an option ! So please be prepared to be able to care for the fish for their entire lives or don't get them !

Let's not get into this...you want to transmit a signal lets say at this 2.4ghz from under water..you will need to float the antenna above the surface and run the coax below to the unit. But it has been 4 years and I have kept all 86lbs off of me. If you do it slowly you will develop good and healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime. I started exercising after I changed my eating habits and started to lose weight. I started with only doing 10 minutes 3 times a week. I was so fat that I thought I might give myself a heart attack. I increased the minutes every week by 2 till I got to 30 minutes and then increased the 3 to 4 times a week. I was walking just about everyday. I eventually joined a gym and got a personal trainer. Best thing I every did. Do what makes you comfortable, if you don't you won't stick with it. Good Luck..........

And if you meant that the article told you to drink just one pint of water a day, any weight you DID lose would be water weight which is not something you should really pay attention to because your water weight fluctuates several pounds every single day. Plus 1 pint of water is only 2 cups...you need to be drinking at least 48oz (6 cups) a day. And again, if you can't see your rib cage now, losing a bunch of your water weight isn't going to change that either. No matter what you do, what you eat or don't eat, what diet pills you take, how much you work out....it would be impossible to actually see a change in your body over just 4 days. I feel guilty because I am away all day , I am working full-time with no option at this point to go part-time. Any suggestions for coping with missing my baby all day? Start off calling every hour and a half the first week, then every 2 hours the next, until you ween yourself down to 3 times a day. I'm sure you know you are fortunate to know that he is with family, and not just sitting in some carrier in a strange daycare all day, and I do know it is difficult for a lot of parents. I think checking in frequently is necessary early on to reassure you that he pretty much sleeps most of the day, and he will eat even when you are not there. Just remind yourself that this is what has to be happening right now. They have webcams where you can watch your baby on-line. My friend does this %26amp; she loves it because she can talk to her children %26amp; sort of be w/ them during the day.
its always hard leaving a new baby, but its necessary in so many households! it can have its perks though...because being away from your baby will make you miss him, so the time that you spend with him in the evening will be quality time! its good to be able to miss your children. this will also prepare him for school, so the transition will not be difficult! you should be proud that you are doing what you have to do so that your son can have everything he needs...and some of what he doesnt need...lol!! you are also very lucky to have family to take care of him...thats so reassuring that he is getting the very best care!! i know how hard this is...but it will get easier...good luck and god bless!

There is no way to cope. You were meant to take care of your child, not anyone else. When you give up your responsibility as a parent, it's natural to feel guilty. The only way to calm your conscience is to stay home and raise your own child. Your job as a parent is WAY more important than any occupation!
Brainstorm how you can get out of this financial bind so that you can spend more time with your baby. It may mean some type of job that you can do from home.
It's natural to feel this way--missing him, after you have bonded so closely for six weeks (and the 9 months count, too!).
You are fortunate that you have the wonderful option of family helping out, but you've got to show them, in some way, that you're not just taking them for granted, or they may continue to help for the kid's sake but resent you if they think you are not doing your full part.

You have him being cared for by your mother and aunt tow people who probably know the angst that you are feeling. talk to them and see if they have any suggestions to help you through this time, and if you need to call and just hear him in the background, then feel free to do so. If you take these steps and still feel that it is unbearable, then maybe you can see if when there might be an option for you to get a job somewhere else PT, or with a very flexible schedule. Just some food for thought. take care and know that you are doing the best that you can!!!

Ask any mother they write the book on guilty feelings. I am sure you already have tons of pictures of him at work. You can also set up a video cam that your Mom or sister (in-law) could film him and send to you via the Internet. I hate to tell you this but it doesn't get any easier, You will always miss your child when you are not with him. Ask any parent. The best that we can hope for is that we learn to cope with it and stay productive at work. Congratulations on your new son.

I too, went back after my maternity leave, and I was sick over it...Try keeping a picture of your little one near you, and take a small article of clothing w/ you, place it in your bag and once in a while, take a sniff of the article...(it sounds wierd, but that's what I did on my numerous trips to California on business) Then if all else fails, call home, lots and lots of times!! Tell you mom/aunt to place the phone next to the baby's ear and sing to him/her... or just plain 'ole listen to your baby's breathing... Hope this helps..
P.S. -I eventually worked from home, is that a possibility for you?

Or, if your cell phone records video, take some video footage of the baby and sneak a peak at work.... I'm a working mom of 2 (my youngest is 4 months), so I can definitely relate!
since you already know your baby is in good hands, just make sure you spend quality time with him whenever you're with him. carrying pics of him hardcopy or softcopy in your mobile or if you can, shoot a short video clip of him laughing at playtime and play n replay as many times as you want. moreover, you're working now to add support him financially for his education and expenses, which is good, in the long run. keep it up and be a happy mum and so will your baby boy, cheers :)

My daughter sells home loans from home and has a babysitter come to watch him. There are other jobs you can do from home with a phone and a computer etc. However, beware of scams. If you have to pay money it is a scam. An example of a scam is a claim that you can do hospital billing from home, just send us money or take our course. She started at the office and was then set up at home. She can travel and still operate. Her calls are forwarded to her cell and of course she has a laptop. You sound like a good mom. Good luck.

I have a mom tattoo which I want to get touched up and a dragon tattoo that needs to be touched up as well. they are both about the size of a fist.

It depends on the artist and the amount of time you spend in the chair. Most artists are going to charge between 100 to 150 an hour and the really great ones may charge even more! When it comes to permanently inking your body the saying you get wwhat you pay for can mean alot. Depends on the kind of person and employee you are. If you are worried that it will come back to haunt you more than you are concerned about the harassment, then it's best you don't say anything. If you are the kind of person who is secure in your job and don't agree this type of thing should happen, I'd go to HR with it.

Include why you chose to stay anonymous. There job is to investigate it and something SHOULD be done. Let them know that if something is not done you will report it to the appropriate authorities.
