Im considering a new tank set up ,would this work?

im trying a new setup of 2 x oscars and 2 x parrot fish

would they live happily or would it be a bad match wih the oscars?Im considering a new tank set up ,would this work?
Oscars grow big fast they ate everything in my tank %26amp; eventually hit the side of the glass so hard it burst the seal spilling all the water on to my carpet

My advice dont get any oscarsIm considering a new tank set up ,would this work?
2 main factors missing-how big fish-how big tank.i kept a pair of 10'; oscars in a 6x2x2ft tank this is as small a tank as i would keep 2 mature fish in.but remember small fish grow in to big fish if fed correctly.hope this helps
I would like to remind you of the commitment and tank size required to keep oscars. Also to tell you that oscars get larger than most commercial fish places will tell you. Their measuring does not include the fins. I'm not sure that an oscar and parrot fish would get along. Cichlids do go with Chiclids however, parrot fish are the black sheep of the family. They are not very territorial and will probably get picked on terribly. I would keep the Oscars by themselves.
I know that oscars dont get along with other fish, but ive been told that if you just have one oscar it should be fine as he may not be able to gang up on the other fish if hes on his own, but he still might depending on his personality. Im not sure about parrot fish to be honest. The best thing to do is ask someone who works at the shop where your gonna buy them if theyre compatible-you should really do that with whatever fish you get anyway because even if a species is not known for bein nasty some individuals may still be. (like humans) So id ask the staff. Good luck with it though keepin an aquarium is a wicked hobby i love it
I hope you've got a large tank because Oscars grow very large. They are also not community fish so putting the other fish with them might not be a good idea although it might work for a time if they're all fairly small.
You should only ever keep 1 oscar by itself otherwise you end up with no other fish anyway.
If you get them all at the same time and get them while they are still young (like no more that a couple inches long) it could work. But here's the kicker, you will need a LARGE tank to handle these 4 fish that will grow fast ! I would dare to say that I would not attempt this in less than a 185, with a 55 gal, in the spare bedroom waiting in case the fish are just not getting along or in case of illness. Keep in mind that the Oscars will grow into big agressive fish and you have to be committed to them, too many people get them while they are small and cute then turn them loose in the wild. This can not be an option ! So please be prepared to be able to care for the fish for their entire lives or don't get them !
Oscars should be kept by themselves. Even if they dont eat the other fish they are big bullies and your other fish wont be happy.
