im 2 hours from north york, im in london. we always shipped our puppies from london to calgary%26amp;edmonton each year. we have also flown with them goingt that distance as well

I would recommend WestJet, but you must accompany the puppy with WestJet

I recommend Air Canada. becuase it is the Summer, Air Canada says that the puppy must be shipped in Cargo, not in baggage.

1-866-615-1155 [air canada cargo]

Call up Air Canada and speak to a represenative. Also you will, of course, need to talk to the breeder and make sure shes/hes fine with shipping the puppy first of all and second of all with air canada. Youll get all the details settled with her/him first and SHE/HE will make the traveling arrangements of the puppy

Also the breeder being from north york [toronto GTA] the puppy will fly to calgary via Pearson Intl.

The puppy must be atleast 8 weeks old and have had all of its shots and dewormed. The puppy must ALSO have a vet note stating its allowed to fly. Something you and the breeder will go over when making the arrangements

good luck

FYI scrap the above link from the above poster. You do not need a passport/visa for the puppy

Ontario to Alberta is NOT internationalPuppy from Ontario to Alberta.. How does this work?
Be very careful about shipping. Most ';breeders'; who ship are IRRESPONSIBLE and breeders to avoid at all cost! Most who are willing to ship are PUPPY mills and backyard breeders and SCAM adds-Ads with pups they have for sale, but actually prove not to exsist.

If you buy a dog over the Internet, at a pet store or through a newspaper ad, your new pooch may very well be from a puppy mill鈥攁 mass dog breeding operation. Protect yourself from scams and don't be fooled into buying an overpriced, possibly sick puppy.

Any reason why you want to ship?

It best to visit the breeder themself, so you can see the conditions in which it was raised, to see the temperment of the parents, and the pedigree, otherwise go to your local animal shelter, you are taken a HUGE risk in trusting the breeder to produce a sound, and healthy pup. which most likely be a result of shipping, is a sick ill pupp from a puppy mill!
Check with West Jet, we shipped our puppy from Toronto to New Brunswick and no one had to go with her... but she was 4 months old when she shipped. West Jet was by far the cheapest for us.

You book a cargo flight for the dog, pay the fee (it was $426.75 for a 36 pound dog to fly to NB), pay the breeder to buy an airline approved crate, the breeder would put the dog on a plane and you pick the dog up at the cargo area of your airport. Our dog came from a rescue in Ontario, but it's the same idea.

Can you not find a breeder closer to you so you can actually meet the dog before you commit to spending the next 10-20 years with the animal?
The dog has to be up to date on all of his shots and you have to pay for the shipping fees. The dog also needs a passport if it gets shipped internationally.
Here's a link that might just help. good luck!

Talk to your breeder. They can explain it better than anyone here.
