It's a bit unfair how they have an advantage of god helping them to survive and we just have to visit plain old educated doctors? We must die earlier s no one is helping us. the world will be completely religious in the coming times because of this. Thank you. The 'proof' of prayer is always anecdotal. The evidence that is does NOT work is statistical. If it did work; they would live longer and there would be more of them and less of us. Come now - even if you're not religious, you must be familiar with the placebo effect. Like it or not, it works; whether it's due to divine intervention or seratonin doesn't matter much.
I'll use an analogy. Have you ever purchased a cell phone? You get the cell phone and then you have to have it activated. Once you have it activated then you can communicate with others. It's a clear line of communication.


Once in a while you'll go through an area that has a dead spot and you'll lose the ability to send or receive a call.


The activation is salvation. Once you receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and repent then the lines of communication open. The dead spots are sin. Anytime you have sin in your life it afftects your communication with God.


Anyone who says that prayer doesn't work is simply saying it didn't work for them. God is not a genie in a bottle that you make selfish requests to and then turn your back on Him any other time. It doesn't work that way. Besides that, if you don't believe in God to begin with, why would you even think of prayer or anything to do with God?


Praying without faith=zip, zilch, nada, nothing. You expect nothing and that's just what you get.
C'mon let 'em believe. Believe me, you'll be okay. : )





I know they won't leave you alone, but why do you allow them to get to you? There are so many other reasons than just religious beliefs to dog people. Next week, let's do people with big nostrils! You know they suck up more air than people with small nostrils, is that fair?
There will always be atheists and there will always be believers. I believe that Jesus commanded us to faithfully follow him. That does not mean that I won't suffer, or become ill or die a horrible agonizing death. I'll simply be guided throughout my life and determined to do good whenever I can, so that when I die I can be sure of eternal life. And while I live this life I can have the comfort and peace of a faithful soul.


And while I can never be sure of whats happening in another person's heart, I can testify that prayer and faith have certainly worked for me.

yeah, all religious people think that. all believing nonsense. prayer doesn't work that can and has been proven.
There have been a number of double blind tests of prayer, which have shown that it has absolutely no capacity to affect outcome. In short, you are correct - prayer has been proven beyond doubt not to work.





However, this will not prevent people claiming (a) that this is not true and (b) that it works for them.
